Everyone wants a new start in their life. Who does not want to do over a few mistakes they might have made in their life? Especially those that involve taking care of your body. In the health, wellness, and fitness circles, NEWSTART is an acronym for revamping your life to correct all your former health mistakes and giving your body the best life while you are still alive. Let us have a look at what the acronym NEWSTART stands for and how we can implement it to better our life.
- Nutrition
Nutrition is defined as “The science that interprets the nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health, and disease of an organism. It includes ingestion, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism, and excretion.” This shows just how central it is in the wellbeing of a human being. The nutrition that we currently have is pathetic as multi conglomerates battle with each other to make the most profits. However, having good nutrition is key in achieving a NEWSTART. Eating right is more than half the battle to a successful life. Avoid junk food and focus more on more natural foods such as vegetables, fruits, and whole meal cereals. A common acronym as well for a healthy life is to avoid eating CRAP: Carbonated drinks, Refined sugars, Artificial sweeteners, Processed Foods. Sadly, CRAP is what majorly exists on the shelves of our supermarket. This makes it very difficult to have an honestly good diet consistently without putting in some extra effort. It gets even worse with the state of the food you perceive to be nutritious.
- Exercise
From Wikipedia, Exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness.
The relevance of exercise cannot be overemphasized. Exercise has for ages been done for various reasons including; weight loss or maintaining a certain body form or shape, to aid growth and improve strength, developing muscles and the cardiovascular system, preventing aging, sharpen your athletic skills, improving one’s health and also to overall feel better and enjoy.
This makes exercise a central aspect of everyday human life and it cannot be ignored. Everyone should exercise unless advised otherwise by a doctor. There are various forms of exercise, relevant to all situations. From indoor exercises to outdoor ones, from easy exercises for novice and inexperienced individuals to more complex ones done by professionals; there is a form of exercise for everyone- do not be left behind.
- Water
There is a common phrase that ”Water is life.” Though this is an arguable sentiment, the importance of water to a human being cannot be overemphasized. A human being cannot go for 7 days without water but can go almost 40 days without food. That is how much the body requires water. In fact, the human body is made up of over 70% water, so well, you need to take lots and lots of it, to make up the big quantity that your body needs to be fully functional. It is advisable to drink a total of around 2 liters of water per day, but this is relative to several factors such as how much dehydration your environmental factors cause you.
Either way, ensure your water is always:
- Safe and Clean (Distilled or Purified)
- Enough for your Body (Consult your physician)
This wraps up section one of NEWSTART for your life. An acronym that stands for a few rules and recommendations, that if you adhere to will ultimately revamp your life: charging you for a long and fruitful life with little to no health complications along the way.
